For first-time patients, parents can download forms and fill them in at home before their child's visit.
A Gentle Approach for Little Folks Get to Know Children's Dental of Waltham
At Children's Dental of Waltham, our experienced pediatric dentists and hygienists love to work with kids. Our passion is to help young patients understand the importance of a healthy smile and to make sure that they have no negative associations with dentistry or a visit to the dentist's office.
During every visit and treatment, we are committed to ensuring your child's comfort. Our kid-friendly office is designed to keep kids happy as we make sure their teeth and gums are healthy and developing properly
All of our dentists were educated in the Waltham, MA, area and have been providing pediatric care for more than a decade.
At Dr. Gutnichenko's practice we found the most "customer-centric", professional, compassionate and technologically advanced care for our daughter, who presented with multiple challenges (we have been to quite a few offices before). Our whole family moved to them as a result; we have been their clients for years now, so glad it is a Family practice. Highly recommended!View On Google
Children's Dental does a great job helping kids who have a fear of the dentist- top notch staff, very kind and patient- made a huge difference for both of my kids. Would recommend highly to any parent!View On Yelp
The First Step In Lifelong Dental Health
You should establish hygienic habits and biannual dental visits for your kids early in life. You can bring a toddler in just before or after their first tooth erupts. We recommend treating the first visit to our office as casually as a trip to the grocery store - building up the experience too much beforehand could make your child feel anxious. During your first visit at our pediatric dental office, our skilled team will help acclimate your child to our office, helping them feel at home. If you like, your little one can sit on your lap while our dentist performs a dental examination and cleaning.
Depending on your child's comfort level and needs, we can perform x-rays, fluoride treatments, and cleanings during an initial appointment. You will also receive an appropriately sized toothbrush and gentle toothpaste for your child so you can begin at-home care.
Meeting the Needs Of All Our Patients
We provide all of the amenities you would expect from a kid-friendly, pediatric office - and more! Our waiting room has a play area where kids can enjoy games, toys, a GameCube, and an iPad while you fill out any paperwork and wait for your appointment. Our dentists and hygienists are friendly and fun, and are happy to greet your kids in the waiting room, if necessary.
Our team speaks English, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Ukrainian, and Romanian, so we welcome patients from many different backgrounds. We accept all major forms of payment, and are happy to work with you to create a treatment plan that works within your family's schedule and budget.
"They are very good and great with kids!!!" Tammy C.
Why Pediatric Dentistry?
Pediatric dentists are usually better equipped to handle the dental care of children than general dentists. Becoming a pediatric dental specialist requires additional education beyond dental school, and all of our dentists received this training at prestigious schools in the Waltham, MA, area. During this training, pediatric dentists learn not only how to meet the dentistry needs of young patients, but also how to make children feel more comfortable at the dentist's office. Bringing your kids to a pediatric dentist is the best way to ensure they get the care their young smiles need.

Relaxing, Comfortable Treatment With Sedation Dentistry
If your little one has difficulty relaxing during his or her dental treatments, we provide nitrous oxide. Also known as laughing gas, nitrous oxide is widely regarded as the safest form of sedation for young people. We can also facilitate general anesthesia at an off-site facility if your child requires an intensive treatment or experiences pronounced anxiety.
Your Child's Dental Partner Into Adulthood
Bringing patients in early in life allows them to become comfortable with our office environment and with our team. We are trained in techniques to make your kid feel safe so we can properly examine their teeth as we teach them the importance of oral health.
We can treat patients up to 20 years old depending upon their needs before recommending a qualified general dentist. In this way, we can help set the stage for lifelong dental care.
